New Life

December 21st 2010

As many of you will know or at least suspect, things are changing for me work-wise at the moment. I have left Elastik Mobile to allow myself the opportunity to branch out beyond both iPhone apps and development in general. I will be attempting to describe exactly what I do as time goes on but as a starting point:

I help people make things with technology. I get involved at the start of a project to help people with ideas understand how to bring them to life.

As I will now be more actively selling myself, it seems sensible to give the website a bit of a kick up the backside. Until now it has been a static page with a bit of info and some links off to other places. I still think that a homepage is not the place to pull all your stuff from across the internet because then none of it has any context and just leads people away from your site. I also still think the single most important thing a website like mine should do is introduce myself to you and explain why the site is here and why you’re reading it. Homepages that are just a blog confuse me no end.

That said, it is time to start thinking slightly bigger and having a regularly updated blog is pretty much essential for anyone who expects people to want to give them work. Expect a serious overhaul of how the site looks over the next few months as I am working with my very good, and talented illustrator friend Nadia Shireen on a very cool identity for me but in the meantime, I have added a blog and a Projects section for a more detailed look at what I’ve worked on.
